The Pakistan Cricket Board has appointed PCB’s Chief Operating Officer (COO), Samir Ahmed Syed, as the Tournament Director for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. The PCB stated that under Samir Ahmed’s leadership, the event will meet the high standards that Pakistan is known for. PCB Chairman, Najam Sethi, emphasized that the ICC Champions Trophy will be a historic milestone in Pakistan’s sports history.
He praised Samir Ahmed as an exceptional professional with strong organizational skills and a deep passion for cricket. He believes Samir will deliver an unforgettable experience for players, officials, and fans.
Samir Ahmed Syed expressed his excitement and honor at taking on this important responsibility, noting that the tournament holds great significance for the PCB, fans, and supporters.
He assured that preparations are already progressing well, with stadium upgrades near completion, and crucial talks with the ICC are ongoing. Samir also highlighted that the PCB’s experienced events team, which has successfully organized nine editions of the HBL Pakistan Super League, will play a key role in ensuring the success of the Champions Trophy.
He promised to enhance the standards set by previous editions of the ICC Champions Trophy and work closely with the International Cricket Council to make the event a great success.
