PCB Sets Training Camp for Women’s Team Ahead of Ireland Tour

The schedule for a skills and fitness camp for the national women’s cricket team has been officially released by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB). A 27-day training camp is set to take place in Karachi from July 7 to August 2, with 24 players shortlisted to participate.

The camp is scheduled to run across two premier facilities in Karachi – the Hanif Mohammad High Performance Centre and the Oval Ground. The main aim is to improve players’ technical skills, match fitness, and overall preparedness for international duty.

Preparation for the Ireland Series is in Full Swing
This prolonged training camp is a part of PCB’s preparations for the women’s team’s forthcoming T20I series against Ireland. A 15-player squad will be named by the national selection committee after the camp.

A pre-tour camp for the chosen squad only will be held from July 28 to August 2, also in Karachi. After this last preparation phase, the team is due to leave for Ireland on August 3.

Key Series Details: Pakistan vs Ireland Women’s T20I
Pakistan Women’s team is set to take on Ireland in a three-match T20I series, with all fixtures scheduled at Clontarf Cricket Ground in Ireland. This tour is considered an important international assignment, offering the team a chance to solidify their form and strategy ahead of future ICC events.

Focus Areas: Fitness, Fielding, and Core Skills
The training camp, according to a PCB spokesman, will focus on a number of high-performance areas:

Improvement in fitness

Agility training and fielding drills

Batting consistency and technique

Bowling variation and accuracy

The aim is to sharpen the squad’s performance to the point where every player is physically and mentally prepared to face international competition.

Strategic Approach Before Global Competitions
This move indicates PCB’s intent to build a competitive women’s cricket program. The Ireland series will not only check the progress of the team but also act as a platform for future international tournaments. The goal of PCB is to create a high-performance environment that will equip players to perform at the world level.
