The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has dismissed India’s objection to the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 trophy tour in Azad Kashmir. The PCB unveiled plans to bring the Champions Trophy to Skardu, Hunza, and Muzaffarabad as part of its highly anticipated tour.
According to Indian media, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) raised concerns with the ICC, asking that the trophy not be taken to these areas. Indian reports also claim that the ICC has canceled the tour stops in Skardu, Hunza, and Muzaffarabad.
However, Pakistan has made it clear to the ICC that India has no grounds to object to the trophy tour, especially after refusing to play the tournament in Pakistan. Sources in Pakistan called the objection unfair, highlighting that India had taken the 2023 World Cup trophy to Ladakh, a disputed region.
It was further clarified that the Champions Trophy schedule and trophy tour route were approved by the ICC, and once finalized, these routes are rarely changed. The trophy tour in Pakistan is scheduled from November 16 to November 24.
