Pakistan Eyes Tenpin Bowling World Cup

Pakistan’s national ten-pin bowling champion, Ghazanfar Bilal, has praised the announcement made by Ijaz-ur-Rehman, President of the Pakistan Tenpin Bowling Federation (PTBF), about bringing the Tenpin Bowling World Cup to Pakistan. He described the decision as a positive step for the sport’s future but stressed that government support is crucial to make this dream a reality.

Call for International-Standard Facilities

Speaking to the media, Bilal emphasized that while Pakistan has immense talent in ten-pin bowling, the country still lacks world-class infrastructure. He urged the government to work alongside the federation to build an international-standard bowling arena.
“Without proper courts and facilities, hosting a global event like the World Cup will not be possible,” he said, highlighting the need for immediate investment in Islamabad’s Pakistan Sports Complex.

Government and Sponsors Must Step In

Bilal underlined that no sport in the world can grow without the backing of the government and corporate sponsors. He appealed to the private sector to extend support not only to cricket but also to other emerging sports in Pakistan, such as tenpin bowling. Sponsorships, he added, would help provide equipment, training opportunities, and exposure to young players eager to compete internationally.

Global Popularity of Tenpin Bowling

The champion pointed out that tenpin bowling is among the most popular recreational and competitive sports worldwide, being played in nearly 150 countries. Hosting the World Cup in Pakistan, he noted, could bring in over 120 male and female athletes from across the globe, turning it into one of the biggest sporting events ever staged in the country.

Boost for Tourism and Pakistan’s Image

Bilal further explained that if the World Cup is successfully hosted, it will not only uplift the sport but also serve as a boost for Pakistan’s tourism industry. With players, officials, and fans visiting from around the world, Pakistan could showcase its hospitality, culture, and scenic destinations, creating a positive image on the global stage.

A Vision That Needs Action

While praising PTBF President Ijaz-ur-Rehman’s vision, Bilal concluded by reminding authorities that without serious planning and infrastructure, such events cannot be executed. He urged the government to prioritize the construction of modern bowling courts so that Pakistan can confidently host the Tenpin Bowling World Cup and place itself on the global sports map.
