Former Pakistani Test cricketer and umpire Mohammad Nazir Junior has passed away. According to his family, Nazir Junior was injured in a traffic accident five years ago, which affected his health. He had been seriously ill for the past few days and was taken to the hospital when his condition worsened.
Nazir Junior played 14 Test matches and 4 One-Day Internationals for Pakistan, taking a total of 37 wickets. He was the first spinner to take 7 wickets in the debut Test match’s first innings for Pakistan. After his playing career, Nazir Junior also served as an umpire, officiating in 15 One-Day Internationals and 5 Test matches.
