Outstanding Performance Of Pakistani Runners In New York Marathon

Pakistani runners performed outstandingly in the New York Marathon. The world’s largest and most challenging marathon was held in the American city of New York in which 36 Pakistani runners participated and showed outstanding performance.

12 Pakistani runners were able to complete their race in less than 4 hours in the New York Marathon. Pakistan’s Danish Elahi was the fastest Pakistani in New York with a time of 3 hours 26 minutes and 50 seconds, Rufi Shahzad was second in the list of Pakistani runners, while Pakistani-American Babar Ghiyas was third with a time of 3 hours 38 minutes and 52 seconds.

In addition, Ammar Mumtaz, Prem Kumar, Rehman Azhar, Yawar Siddique, Shariq Samad, Fasih Al Saleh, Salman Khan and Salman Chaudhry covered the distance in less than 4 hours. Norwegian Pakistani participant in the marathon, Khawla Ahmed, was the fastest Pakistani woman with a time of 3 hours 43 minutes and 2 seconds, while Maheen Sheikh was second in the list of Pakistani women and Kokub Sarwar was third.

Abdi Ngai of the Netherlands won the New York Marathon and the Dutch runner completed the distance in 2 hours 7 minutes and 39 seconds. Kenya’s Sheila Chepkuri won the women’s category of the New York Marathon.
