Ian Botham Narrowly Escapes Fall into Crocodile-Filled River

Former England cricketer Sir Ian Botham narrowly escaped falling into a crocodile-infested river while fishing in Australia. According to Indian media reports, Botham was fishing in the Moyle River in Australia with former fast bowler Merv Hughes when things took a dangerous turn.

The situation became risky when Botham’s shoe got caught in a rope as he tried to move between boats, causing him to lose balance. He suffered several injuries from the fall, making it difficult for him to avoid the crocodile-filled waters.

On Instagram, he wrote, “I was able to escape before hitting the water, with crocodiles eyeing me closely. I’m fine now.”

For context, Sir Ian Botham represented the English team in 102 Test matches, scoring 5,200 runs and taking 383 wickets.
