The schedule for the 2025 Champions Trophy remains unresolved, causing a delay in the official announcement. According to a cricket website, issues with the schedule couldn’t be settled, leading the ICC to cancel the event, which was initially planned for November 11. The website reports that the event was called off mainly because of unresolved decisions regarding India’s matches. The ICC Initially Planned a November 11 Schedule Announcement in Lahore.
An official mentioned that the schedule isn’t yet confirmed, and discussions with host and participating teams’ boards are ongoing. The cricket website stated that ICC has not responded regarding this development. The ICC had arranged a 100-day countdown event, where the schedule announcement was also expected.
On the other hand, PCB sources have said this was planned to be a flag-off for the trophy tour and a launch for the tournament’s branding. Work is ongoing for this event, and it might be rescheduled. Sources also mentioned that outdoor activities in Lahore are currently challenging, and since no confirmation or announcement about the schedule was made, nothing specific can be said at this point.
Previously, there was news about India deciding not to visit Pakistan. Reports also suggested that the ICC had been informed about India’s decision not to travel to Pakistan. PCB remains firm on its stance from two days ago; Chairman PCB Mohsin Naqvi stated that they would make decisions if something official is put in writing, adding that they have rejected the hybrid model.
