The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has unveiled a temporary coaching panel to lead the national side during the upcoming three-match T20I series against Bangladesh. The board made this announcement while still looking for permanent coaches.
Temporary Coaches Appointed for Bangladesh Series
According to an official press release by the PCB, some veteran professionals have been appointed to coach the national team in the Bangladesh series. The new team structure is as follows:
Mike Hesson – Head Coach
Naveed Akram Cheema – Team Manager
Hanif Malik – Batting Coach (Interim)
Ashley Noffke – Bowling Coach (Interim)
Mohammad Masroor – Fielding Coach
This new coaching arrangement shall be for the duration of only the T20I series against Bangladesh.
Support Staff Also Finalized
Besides the main coaching staff, PCB has also confirmed the following support members for the team:
Cliffe Deacon – Physiotherapist
Imranullah – Strength & Conditioning Coach
Talha Ejaz – Team Analyst
They will also closely interact with the players to ensure fitness levels, offer analytical assistance, and ensure player welfare throughout the series.
Search for Permanent Coaches Underway
Previously, on May 20, official announcements were released on the website of the PCB, requesting applications for the posts of Batting Coach, Fielding Coach, and Strength & Conditioning Coach. Interested applicants have been asked to send in their applications by June 6 at 5 PM.
Temporary appointments will be held by Hanif Malik and Ashley Noffke in their respective positions until the permanent posts are filled.
Why Interim Appointments Were Necessary
Because of the constant recruitment process, the PCB decided to introduce interim coaches to ensure the team is fully attended to throughout the critical series against Bangladesh.
