Lahore: The iconic Gaddafi Stadium is gearing up for thrilling cricket action, but a major change has been introduced around the ground. A deep moat has been dug around the stadium, making it nearly impossible for fans to enter the playing area.
Security Measures Enhanced to Prevent Pitch Invasions
Cricket fans are known for their passionate enthusiasm, and some even attempt to breach security to meet their favorite players. To counter such incidents, the stadium management has taken an unprecedented step by constructing a 10-foot-wide and 10-foot-deep moat around the field. This measure ensures that no unauthorized person can access the playing area, providing a secure environment for both players and officials.
Unobstructed Views for Spectators
In addition to security upgrades, the stadium management has improved the viewing experience for fans. The barriers that previously obstructed views between enclosures and the ground have been removed. Now, spectators can enjoy an uninterrupted view of the action, enhancing their overall experience at the stadium.

The newly constructed moat is lined with green-painted metal fences on both sides, blending with the stadium’s aesthetic.
