According to cricket sources, matches will be spread across at least five venues in India and two venues in Sri Lanka. The final match is expected to be held either in Ahmedabad or Colombo, with the venue decision depending on whether Pakistan qualifies for the final.
Pakistan to Play All Matches in Sri Lanka
In a notable arrangement, the Pakistan cricket team will play all of its group-stage matches in Sri Lanka, regardless of the opposition. This decision aims to ease logistical and political concerns, ensuring the smooth conduct of the event.

Tournament Format Explained
The 2026 T20 World Cup will follow the same structure as the 2024 edition:
- The tournament will start with 20 teams placed in four groups of five.
- From each group, the top two sides will qualify for the Super Eight stage.
- In the Super Eight round, the eight teams will again be divided into two groups.
- The best two teams from each group will then move on to the semi-finals.
- The winners of the semi-finals will face each other in the grand final.
